Evaluation of tomato germplasm for resistance to geminiviruses in Sanarate, GT: March 04 --  Begomovirus resistant genes from wild species.

The wild tomato species, L. hirsutum, is the source of resistance for all lines with an "h" after the number.  In the picture to the left, L. hirsutum, flowers and fruit are being held in front of a breeding line, 105h, which has genes for begomovirus resistance derived from the program of Czosnek and Vidavski, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, which used L. hirsutum as the source of resistance.  The line 902 was developed which had high resistance to TYLCV.
