Tomato field trial -- Team involved in evaluation of plants in April 05 at Sanarate, GT
|
This is the third cycle of tomatoes in this one plot. Many lines and commercial hybrids were dead. This is an example of a line (left) that was killed by a what appears to be a soil-borne pathogen. On the right (just right of stack in center) starts a different line and it is resistant to this pathogen. Some wilted plants had tested positive for Ralstonia solanacerum earlier, but since the breeding lines do not have resistance to this pathogen, it seems that other pathogens are involved.
